Hello professional geeks! Zach from the blog here. As we kick off season 2, we're super excited to be trying some new experiences over at the blog. I always love hearing our guests talk about the specific shows, movies, people, institutions, etc that influenced them, so I wanted to kick off a new recurring blog post that will be released the day after the main episode: Show Notes! Here, I'll compile a list of items mentioned in our episode, as well as a brief summary and links to more information online. My hope is that these blogs will make it even easier to understand our guests by linking directly to the things they're most passionate about. Maybe they'll even inspire your next geeky passion! And lets kick it off with our host and executive producer, Blaire Knight-Graves!
"DePaul, in common with all universities, is dedicated to teaching, research, and public service. However, in pursuing its own distinctive purposes, among these three fundamental responsibilities this university places highest priority on programs of instruction and learning. All curricula emphasize skills and attitudes that educate students to be lifelong, independent learners. DePaul provides sufficient diversity in curricular offerings, personal advisement, student services, co-curricular and extracurricular activities to serve students who vary in age, ability, experience, and career interests. Full-time, part-time and on-line students are accorded equivalent service and are held to the same academic standards." - From DePaul's Central Purposes, as found in DePaul's mission statement, here
